North Noble Energy Oil Refinery in northern Afghanistan in Balkh province, Mazar-e-Sharif was installed and assembled in mid-2016. The refinery has a production capacity of 500 metric tons per day and 150,000 metric tons per year. It is capable of processing heavy, light Crude Oil and low-sulfur Gas condensate. This refinery was designed by Turkish engineers using American Petroleum Industry Technology (API) and all its equipment according to the standard (ASTM) and with the help of Turkish and Afghan engineers. It has been installed and assembled and all its operational process is carried out by Turkish and Afghan engineers and it has two basic atmospheric and vacuum towers and a complementary automatic control system. North Noble Energy Oil Refinery produces energy from crude oil products such as Gasoline with octane number (A-80), Kerosene, Diesel and Fuel Oil in accordance with the world norm and standards for quality such as ISO 9001 and other standard marks. These products are supplied to the market after verification by the relevant departments to the market. This refinery has an equipped laboratory for quantitative and qualitative testing of its products. The products of each refinery depends on the type of raw materials based on which it is designed and on the basis of which it produces different amount and type of products. This refinery has stocks of raw and refined products, which are based on safety issues for the reservation and storage of raw and processed products. The purpose of establishing this refinery is to create employment and help solve the problem of unemployment, development of domestic oil industries, rotation of the country's economic and contribution in the establishment of the infrastructures, upgrade knowledge and technical skills of human resources, prevent import of low quality petroleum products, increase the quantity and quality of domestic products and meet domestic needs for petroleum products.
